Cabo Corso

Our ‘white’ chocolate bar, made with 35% cocoa butter, muscovado sugar and Madagascar vanilla - the finest of ingredients – for a creamy, rich taste.  White chocolate comes of age.  Refined.

In naming this bar we call out and acknowledge the conflicted past of our coast; and look to the future.  Trade continues ceaselessly, our selves before, our cocoa following, our chocolate now.  Sankofa - in looking forward we reflect on the past.  We do not forget, nor absolve our complicity.

Cabo Corso is wrapped in the stark colours of the ruthlessly beautiful Osprey echoed in the Cape Coast Castle.  Both perched on high, facing the Atlantic, waiting.

The Osprey is a large bird of prey with characteristic hooked bill, powerful talons, and distinctive plumage: white head with a crest and broad dark stripe through its eye, dark brown upperparts and white breast flecked golden brown.  It feeds exclusively on fish which it catches by plunge-diving, perching conspicuously on prominent vantage points at large rivers, lagoons, lakes etc.  Largely migratory it can be found in Ghana from October through to April.  The viability of the Osprey in Ghana is threatened by the loss of suitable perches close to hunting bodies of water.  The Ghana Wildlife Society is currently running an Osprey Project.
